Tracy Nowicki is a Clinical Nurse Consultant who leads the Quality Effectiveness Support Team (QuEST) at The Prince Charles Hospital in Brisbane’s north. The QuEST department specialises in the coordination of equipment, pressure & falls injury prevention and management, care of the bariatric patient, intravenous medication safety, and quality risk management across the 600-bed tertiary hospital. A significant focus of Tracy’s role is to bring innovation to the development of central equipment management to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Tracy is a well-sought-after presenter who has shared her passion and expertise on Bariatrics, Pressure Injury Prevention, Standardising Skin Care, Equipment management and Bed Safety in publications and presentations across Australia and internationally. In 2012, Tracy opened, chaired, and presented at Australia’s first National Pressure Injury Pressure Conference.
Being conversant in Pressure Injury Prevention best practice has seen Tracy involved in the development of Queensland Health guidelines and specialist supplements. She joined other Australian experts on the Guideline Development Steering Committee for the first Pan Pacific Clinical Practice Guideline for the Prevention and Management of Pressure Injury. Tracy has recently been on the review committee for the Global Pressure Injury Guidelines v 1 & 2.
